Welcome to the Aqua-Sprouts 4-H Club Blog!
This is where club leaders, members, and participants will share their stories, progress, pictures and more based upon the project!
The Aqua-Sprouts 4-H club (originally the Scientific Avengers) is focused on a yearly project that will produce Fruits and Vegetables using sustainable methods of farming such as Hydroponics, Aquaponics, and Raised Bed Gardening! These sustainable methods of gardening will lead students to learn and understand different farming techniques, methids of giving back to the community, water conserving methods of farming, and much more!
Fruits and Vegetables grown will be donated to local foodbanks, Matthew 25 Ministries and Iredell Christian Ministries! Students will be responsible for measuring and weighing produce before being donated. The goal for the 2018 club project is 20 pounds of produce donated.
Meetings will take place the second Thursday of every month from 6-7pm at Allison Woods Outdoor Learning Center! The club is accepting members on a rolling basis, if you think your child would be interested in joining Aqua-Sprouts, please come join us at our next meeting April 12th!
